Hans was teaching a small group Bible study at church when the group came across the topic of forgiveness. He was surprised by two reactions from the small group members. One person flatly said, without hesitation or emotion, “I cannot forgive them for what they have done.” Two years later, he was discussing this topic with pastors in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) during a mission trip and learned of a saying in the country that goes like this: Even in heaven, I will not forgive you.
To Hans, such statements revealed the difficulty of forgiving others. He himself had been faced with such difficulty, and it took years and a revelation from God to overcome it. As he gained more insight and understanding on the subject and began sharing his experience, people around him started encouraging him to write. This book is the result of that encouragement.
Yes, You Can Forgive! But Do You Want To? is perfect for Bible study, self-study, and sermon prep.
"Often, followers of Jesus lose their way on the journey because of offenses that are never dealt with or processed properly. This book will serve as a guide from being wounded to living in authentic forgiveness."
